One of the first things I need to do at our house is move my plants. I'll move my plants to raised beds (I'll just move the raised beds I already have), and hold my plants there until my flower beds are ready next spring. I plan to till the grass on the front of the house. I'll add lime and compost. Then I'll cover the new beds with weed blocking cloth. On top of the cloth, I'll add mulch. These beds will sit over winter. Next spring I'll transplant my plants that are waiting in the raised beds. I guess moving the raised beds, and transplanting plants will happen right away. The preperation of the flower beds can wait until fall. We will probably consider plastering the basement walls in the fall or even winter. That doesn't need to happen right away.
