I love my girls!

I was just at the store with my 22 year old daughter Jessica. Jess has autism. She turns 23 in about one week. Anyway, after we went through the checkout line the cashier closed her lane and stood up to leave. Jessica took hold of her and gave her a very good hug. And you could see tears come to this lady’s eyes. I'm sure she has had a very full day filled with demanding and hurried customers. Here was a customer who cannot talk, but speaks a language that needs no words. I love my daughter. Juergen took his girls to breakfast this morning.

Cold wet and sad!

This cold wet summer is such a downer! I even thought about booking a house in Italy again, but it's cold there too! The poor wine growers! I'm crying about my tomatoes but I don't live from my crops! Where is my sunshine? It’s supposed to be 45C /110F degrees in Tuscany, not 16C/ 60F. What happened to my summer! It's 14C / 57F outside! We had better weather in March! I think I'll go clean out the Attic. I wanted to be canning heirloom tomato sauce. I want a wood stove! The photos are from a wet vacation in Holland!

Happy birthday Nicole

Nicole turned 21 years old yesterday.  I gave her a small pile of gifts, and the boys and I took her to breakfast.  She has a big party in a few weeks.  It will be a 70's party.  Sounds like fun.  At the moment she does not feel very good.  She is chronically tired.  She has yet another Drs Appointment this week.  We think it maybe a B12 deficiency or even Lyme disease?  Hopefully the Dr can find the cause.  Someone her age should not be so tired!  Today I worked in the garden.  I harvested tomatoes, zucchini, summer squash, kale, cabbages, onions, cucumber’s and purple cauliflower.  I put most of it in the freezer.  I'll give allot of it to a friend who house sat for us.  It's been humid and my tomatoes are getting blight.  It's been a very wet august.

Home from camp

We picked the boys up from summer camp (SOLA Mannheim) today.  It looks like they had a great time, but they didn't say much.  That's just the boys!  And then we picked Sarah up from the train station.  She spent the week at soccer camp.  Of course she talked my ears off.  They met professional soccer players, toured a soccer stadium, saw a game, went swimming, and of course played soccer.  I made her take a long nap.  She goes to SOLA tomorrow. She will be gone all week, then come home long enough to wash her cloths and go to another camp.  I hope she doesn't fall apart.  3 weeks of so much and excitement can make her pretty tired.  But she is up for it!   Tonight we are eating pizza.   What else!
