The Coconut Cures — It's Rainmaking Time!®

The Coconut Cures — It's Rainmaking Time!®

This is very good to listen to.

The small family

Nicole, Thomas and Philip are all at camp this week. Juergen, Jessica, Sarah and I went out to eat. It was very nice, just the 4 of us. And now Sarah is at a friend’s, so it's very quiet with just the 3 or us. I took photos of my flowers. The bees were all over the sunflowers and hollyhocks.

What Is TMG (Trimethylglycine)

I'm taking TMG to help my liver get healthy. I take Trimethylglycin (TMG) 1000 mg of Trimethylglycin (TMG) 3 times per day. And my tmg comes with Vitamin B12 - 500 mcg. So I get the B12 that is good in reducing Homocystein. Homocystein causes your arteries to get inflamed. This leads to heart problems. I am mostly worried about the health of my liver. I am trying to do a low carb, high fiber diet with the supplements that encourage liver health. So TMG, Vit E, Bitter Melon, Chromium Picolinate, Vit D, Magnesium, and Milk thistle I also take Metamucil for fiber and Manako prebiotic Psyllium. Actually both are Psyllium. These are non-water soluble fiber that help lower your cholesterol and keep your colon clean. I think the Atkins diet is low carb, but not high enough in fiber. Both low carb and high fiber help lower your risk for heart problems and diabetes. But most people try to get the fiber from high carb sources like breads. If you have insulin resistance like I think I do, you should avoid carbs. But you can get fiber in vegetables and nuts and seeds too. But in the early part of Atkins, you cannot have nuts and seeds. So I'm taking fiber. I'm more closely following The Liver Cleansing Diet by Sandra Cobot. I do think Atkins had it right. You cannot maintain a low cal diet long term. The best way to control appetite is by eating protein and restricting carbs.

Summer vacation has begun

We only have 6 weeks of summer vacation and it begins late. So today the kids slept in, and played cards. But at some point I needed their rooms cleaned and their bags packed. Camp starts tomorrow for Philip and Thomas. Nicole is already there setting up. They have 16 groups with over 300 campers this week, and another 300 next week. Sarah goes next week.

talking turkey

I just booked my airline ticket to Oregon for Thanksgiving. I can only stay just over a week (sadly). But it will be the first time home for Thanksgiving in nearly 10 years. I look forward to seeing most of my family (I hope all of them). I'm coming alone. And I can not eat no dressing or pie, no mash potato's or corn (so sad). But I hope I can spend some good hours just holding my dads hand! It seems like a million years away. It's going to be over 100 F this weekend.

Showing the house again

Juergen shows the house in Leimen to 3 to 6 families tonight(God willing). 6 are scheduled to see it, but they don't always show up as scheduled. Our renter goes on vacation soon, so it will be a few more weeks before we can show the house again. It would be pretty awesome to sell it now. But our one offer fell through. The people could not secure a loan. I was so hopeful. But it is not sold until all the papers are notarized. So I'm trying to just stay calm and expect to be willing to rent again. This is not what I want to be worrying about. If we sell it great. If we rent it great. I just don't want this issue draining our time and money. I pray for God's will to be done.

Doctor Sandra Cabot - 1 hour Love your Liver presentation

I have 12 of the 15 symptoms of a fatty liver. So I'm reading her book and trying the diet. This is worth listening to. Her book is The liver cleansing Diet by Dr Sandra Cabot.

Praying for something good

Juergen got a call today from the couple that gave us an offer. It seems their financing fell through. They had to withdraw the offer. The timing of that was pretty bad. It would have been easier for Juergen to show the house tonight if he had one offer in his hands. But we prayed about it. We already felt that the first family was not the correct family. And even if we have no offer in our hands, God is with us. So I'm waiting for Juergen. He is showing the house right now. I'm praying for something special to happen.

Going, going, God willing gone!

Wednesday at 7pm is the final chance to see our house in Leimen. We have an offer and we don’t want to lose that buyer looking for a better offer. So we are telling buyers to come now if they want a chance to buy our house. God willing it will be sold in a few short days! MORE INFORMATION HERE

showing the house

The next appointment to see the house in Leimen is going to be on Wednesday night. We wanted it on Saturday but the renters could not free up Saturday. And who can blame them? They are renters not real-estate agents. But we have an offer on the table, and we want to find a buyer right away. God willing things will be settled soon. A few of the families (I think we have 6 or 7 families) are from Leimen. We think that's very good. They know the area and like it. Many of them have 2 or 4 kids. They have already met with the bank to secure financing. They sound like a promising group of buyers. So I pray God gives us a good buyer. Someone who will love the house and be happy and blessed there. Someone who can give us a fair price that meets their budget, and our need. I do thank God for all the interest. It is very encouraging. Nothing like the last time we tried to sell the house.

We got an offer on the house. It was only a few thousand short of our “lowest amount we would easily say yes to”. So we told them to wait a week. We have 6 or more families looking at the house next week. If we get a better offer we will most likely accept it, and if not, we will accept their offer. They really want it. And they are a nice family from Leimen. That is good. But they only have one child (a 5 month old baby). It is a pretty big house with 5 bedrooms. I would be OK with selling to them. I like them. But I feel it's wise to wait one more week. It may earn us 10,000 Euro for a week’s wait. I know they could go find another house in the next week. But I don't think they will. And if they do, and we get no other offer we will kick ourselves. But we are trying not to be stupid about this process. And we know the wise thing to do is wait one more week.

The offer comes and I pray it is good

If you think of it, please pray for us. One family says they really want to buy our house in Leimen. They have been to the bank. They will sit down with us tomorrow to give us a formal offer. I would be very blessed to sell it to them if the offer is good. But I don't have any idea of what the offer will be. Our renters offered us 60,000 Euro less then what we want. And I'm afraid to hope this family will do better. We do have another 6 families who want to see the house. But we cannot show it often. We don't want to disturb the renters too much. I guess there is a psychological advantage when a large group is there to see the place at one time. I don't love the distraction. I want it all to be over! Please pray we can sell the house soon. I do thank God we will get an offer so fast. That is pretty amazing.

e-bay my way to Thailand

I'm waiting for a family to come pick up our fish tank. We have had it 12 years and Juergen wished to get rid of it. Now that I have a big pond I’m OK with that. It was the first thing I ever sold on eBay. And we also sold the car top carrier. So now I'm looking around to see what else I can get rid of. I have a small freezer, and an overstuffed chair. I have way too many tools in my tool shed. I have too many books! Maybe I can eBay myself some money for a vacation in Thailand?

the big t

verkauf- for sale -or- verkauft- is sold Yesterday I made a mistake with my German. Someone asked me if the house was sold (verkauft). I said yes because I didn't hear the t. So they hung up. I felt bad. And Juergen was upset because my German is still so bad. But we do expect an offer tonight. And the phone has been ringing with many new requests to see the house. So by faith it is verkaut!

Please pray

I think we have a buyer for our house in Leimen. They saw it this weekend. They just called and said they really want it. So they will be seeing the bank on Thursday and give us a solid offer. I hope it's an offer we can accept. But it is wonderful someone wants it bad! Thank God for his grace!

Restoration Home - St Thomas a Becket Church - Episode One

How it stands

I spent the afternoon baking in the hot sunshine at Sarah's school.  She had a school festival and was in a play.  I was there by myself and felt pretty alone.  Most everyone was there as whole families (mom's, dads, kids and grandparents).  All the games were for little kids.  Next time I'll bring my godchild Anna.  While I was at the school, Juergen showed the house.  Only 4 of the 7 families showed up.  3 families seemed interested, one of the 3 very interested.  So hopefully we will get a good offer.  We wait and see.  The renter had done a very good job cleaning up Juergen said.  I'm very grateful for that.  They are paying rent and it is an inconvenience to have strangers walking through their home.  So I feel as if I'm holding my breath waiting for a good offer.  God willing, we will not need to wait long.  I hope...I hope...I hope!

Selling the house

Juergen is meeting about 7 families today in Leimen.  Well, 7 asked to see it, we will see how many actually show up.  We didn't have very good experience the last time we tried to sell it.  People would schedule an appointment, and not show up.  They would not even call.  And we would wait and wait.  Our time had zero value to them.  And then they would say I hate this, and I hate that.  You need to drop the price 100,000 Euro so I can totally remodel the house.  I need a fireplace and Greek columns, and marble on the floors.  Oh man!  It was not fun.  So Juergen meets maybe 7 families to look at the house.  We have a renter.  I have no control over how nice or clean everything’s going to look.  I already know the back yard looks very bad.  We are hiring a gardener to redo the grass.  I have no control.  But I actually feel better than the last time it was on the market.  If it sells it will be the grace of God.  And if not, we will try to rent it again.  We will not wait a whole year.  I do hope it sells.  It would be pretty wonderful not to have this responsibility anymore.  I got rid of all the extra tomatoes yesterday.  There were about 50 tomato plants left over.  I put them on a table on the sidewalk in front of my house.  I wrote a sign that said free tomatoes, please take them.  And in a few hours they were all gone.  I have 100 plants in my greenhouse and garden.  That is enough to water and care for.  These extra plants were a burden not a blessing.  And Leimen is the same.  It distracts us, and cost us both time and money.  We just want to sell it.  But we are not willing to drop the price 60,000 Euro as some want us to do.  So I hope we can sell it well.  I don't need to make a profit, I just want to break even. But we may need to rent it again.  And I’m OK with that too.

The 4th of July

We had a very nice 4th of July BBQ last night. I was a little worried the weather wouldn't be nice. I actually mowed the lawn in the rain yesterday morning and wondered if it was going to clear up. But it did clear up. It was really beautiful. And I think everyone had a nice time. We had a watermelon eating contest. That was fun! And we played ping pong. We have never tried to celebrate American Independence day before. But I think we need to do it again next year.

Kate Smith, God Bless America

Happy 4th

During the American Revolution, the legal separation of the Thirteen Colonies from Great Britain occurred on July 2, 1776, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence that had been proposed in June by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia declaring the United States independent from Great Britain. After voting for independence, Congress turned its attention to the Declaration of Independence, a statement explaining this decision, which had been prepared by a Committee of Five, with Thomas Jefferson as its principal author. Congress debated and revised the wording of the Declaration, finally approving it on July 4. A day earlier, John Adams had written to his wife Abigail: The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more. Adams's prediction was off by two days. From the outset, Americans celebrated independence on July 4, the date shown on the much-publicized Declaration of Independence, rather than on July 2, the date the resolution of independence was approved in a closed session of Congress. John Adams was my great Grandfather about 8 generations back.
