Waiting for the other shoe to drop

I got some criticism about my blog being too political. I’m not really sure what to think about that. To be honest with you, I am political. I was a class president. I thought about being a lawyer. I love politics. This is my blog, and that should be enough. But there is more. Politics affect peoples lives. Not just any people, but people I personally know and love. For example health care. My mom and Dad are older then me (Duh) and rely on their health care. The issue could make or break them….and I care about that! My brother works for the city, and may get laid off after 20 years of service. Why? The city hasn’t got any money. When people are unemployed they don’t pay taxes. My best friend has been out of work for over a year. A stimulus package that doesn’t stimulate jobs hurts people (people like my best friend). My nephew is in the military. He may get sent to Afghanistan. It bothers me that the commander and chief doesn’t talk to his generals. Iran is building a bomb. That will force Israel to bomb them. I don’t find it comforting that Obama is perceived as weak…not now! And abortion is taking the lives of over 3,000 babies a day in the USA. I don’t want that number to increase because of public financing. The USA already started funding abortion internationally under this new administration. That’s right, Americans are paying for abortions in China. Sure I can keep my opinions to myself, but I care about these things. I have a voice. I can still declare my opinion. In Afghanistan girls have been sprayed with acid just because they were heading to school. I have a voice and you may not agree with it. That’s OK. Just don’t read my blog…good idea! I could be polite and talk only about the weather and my beautiful children. I’m actually worried about the state of things. We are not headed down a good path…no we are not! I do not wish President Obama to fail. I think he is failing. He is trying to do too many things, and he is not doing anything well. This is not good for any of us, but being nice and forgiving isn’t going to get him to sober up. The Obama administration needs to stop generating pleasant PR, and start listening to the opposition. We have some good ideas. Bill Clinton didn’t run the USA from the far left, he ran it from the middle. I don’t dislike Obama, I dislike his ideas. I want the world to be safe, I want no war, I want jobs, I want my family to have health insurance. Politics isn’t the only thing I think about, but I feel we are living in dangerous times.

If people do not like what you write, they do not have to read it. After all, it is your blog. Many people enjoy reading it...I am one of th epeople who likes reading it.

chicken coop idea

Why not start with an IBC and cut a hole for the door? You could build closed laying boxes into it, and something for the chickens to roost on. Put some straw or saw dust on the floor. You could add vents to the side for air. If it sat inside a chicken run that you can walk into, the chickens could be safe, dry and happy. I have an extra IBC. Maybe this could be my chicken house? I bet I could even plant the outside of it with mud and grass for extra insulation and good looks.

The Opel Agilia

I think I don't want to spend the money for the VW New Beetle. It's a very cute and safe car, but cost about 17,000Euros new. I can find it for 13,000Euros (this is the most basic model) but that's more then I would want to spend. I don't really drive that much. I'm pretty cheep at heart. I need real value for my money. I keep thinking we really should take advantage of the money Germany is offering to trade old cars in for 2500Euros towards a new car. If I buy a car that's around 10,000 Euros, then the Government is actually going to pay 25% of the cost of that car. That's really a very good deal. Since I know I will need a new car in the near future, I feel I should get a new 10,000 Euro car. The Opel Agilia is around 9,900 Euros. It's got 5 doors, and room for 5. It is pretty safe, and comes with a 6 year warranty. I would not call it my dream car, but I could easily afford it. I'm trying to be wise here. There are other cars in thi
