I took this photo looking back on a storm we drove through
in Wyoming. I was Nicole, moving my best friend Cindy across country. The storm
was scary. The rain and wind blew our van around. And we were in the middle of nowhere.
There was no place to stop. No place to pull over. I just drove and they prayed
and sang. To be honest, I cried. It felt like we would get hit with a tornado.
There were tornados in the area. It took hours to drive out of danger. And when
we finally got to a calm place, I pulled over and shot this picture. I wanted
to always remember the idea of keep on moving...if you don't like the storm you
are in. Keep driving until you are past it.
Why not start with an IBC and cut a hole for the door? You could build closed laying boxes into it, and something for the chickens to roost on. Put some straw or saw dust on the floor. You could add vents to the side for air. If it sat inside a chicken run that you can walk into, the chickens could be safe, dry and happy. I have an extra IBC. Maybe this could be my chicken house? I bet I could even plant the outside of it with mud and grass for extra insulation and good looks.
