Cold wet and sad!

This cold wet summer is such a downer! I even thought about booking a house in Italy again, but it's cold there too! The poor wine growers! I'm crying about my tomatoes but I don't live from my crops! Where is my sunshine? It’s supposed to be 45C /110F degrees in Tuscany, not 16C/ 60F. What happened to my summer! It's 14C / 57F outside! We had better weather in March! I think I'll go clean out the Attic. I wanted to be canning heirloom tomato sauce. I want a wood stove!

The photos are from a wet vacation in Holland!

If you have any ripe tomatoes and they are cracking from the moisture you still can make tomato sauce by cooking them down in a crock pot.

That's what I did last summer had two crock pots going on the counter. I blended the tomatoes in a food processor then put herbage and tomatoes in the crockpot for 8 hours to cook them down to a thick sauce.
