We set out for Florence very late. I was trying to get Jessica out of her
room. I did manage to turn off her
computer and get her to eat some breakfast. Her mood was better when we left the
house. Nicole, Sarah, Mom and I went to
Florence. Jürgen stayed with the boys
and Jessica. They went swimming, and out
for a 2 hour drive. We went to see an
art exhibit at the Palazzo Vecchio. It was Michelangelo
and Jackson Pollick. I found the location
very beautiful, but the exhibit disappointing.
They had about 12 unfinished statues by Michelangelo, and only 3 or 4
paintings by Pollick. After the exhibit we
had a long lunch in an outdoor café. It
was ok. Not nearly as good as our lunch
in Rome. But the fresh lemon aid was
great! And as we left it began to
rain. We went into a very small church
to pray. You could not take pictures. That is really too bad. It was very old and beautiful. There was incents burning. It was very sweet and lovely. Nothing too strong. And we prayed for my brother in law and
sister. They we went towards the Duomo . We got pretty wet waiting to go
in. But it was worth the trouble. I would have loved to climb to the top of the
dome, but my Mom would not have been able to do this. She looked tired, and we headed back to the
car. We could not get a taxi, so we
spent our money on ice-cream. And I had
planned on going to see a garden. But we
could not find the garden and it was raining hard! We decided to just go home.
Why not start with an IBC and cut a hole for the door? You could build closed laying boxes into it, and something for the chickens to roost on. Put some straw or saw dust on the floor. You could add vents to the side for air. If it sat inside a chicken run that you can walk into, the chickens could be safe, dry and happy. I have an extra IBC. Maybe this could be my chicken house? I bet I could even plant the outside of it with mud and grass for extra insulation and good looks.
